Yes there was a fire in 2006 but in 2013 Dial House and its surrounding land was purchased by the Sheffield construction company Campbell Homes Ltd and has been incorporated into a new housing development known as Dial House Court. The original house has been turned into three cottages while new building work has created 33 two bedroom apartments in total with communal gardens. The sun dial is still in situ.

They have made a good job of the new development.

We moved from Crowder Avenue to 2 Gervase Avenue on Lowedges round about 1956 ish. We then moved to 122 Gervase Avenue round about 1962 ish for a couple of years before moving to the Batemoor estate.

No doubt like I do, you wonder what has happened to all those families you knew on the street where you lived, especially if those houses are no longer there !
