Sheffield Council owned verge.

Planters Council approved.

Totally legal.

Hmmm...

This is another interesting one!

So if a pedestrian accidentally walks into or trips over one of your planters (maybe when it's dark) and hurts themselves, then presumably the Council will accept all legal responsibility? :suspect:

Yep... I don't think so either! :(

Some councils are even more understanding .

Certain areas of Rotherham Settee's are compulsory street furniture on verges 🥴 🤣.

The planters are on the grass verge, not on the footway.

But someone could still trip over them when they're crossing the road.

Or a neighbour's visitor may damage their car door if they don't see them when they're legally parked on the road and are getting out of their car.

It's a legal minefield...
... unless you've got it in writing from the Council that they'll accept full responsibility.

Also, I'm betting it's very unlikely that your home insurance will cover anything that happens outside the border of your property.

But I'm sure someone will be along soon to tell us otherwise! :|

The Council do not take any responsibility.

The Council do advise that the owner take out insurance.

Very interesting. Binned totally? Last I read they had cut it back by a few streets.

Of course the council won't listen - they've already made up their minds it'll go ahead whatever the reception. We've seen it before in all the other permit parking zones that have been introduced.

Any luck?
