On a cold , winters afternoon, in  a rush to get shopping in the house , I left keys in it and some bandit took it . Cops found it less than 2 miles from our house, wrapped round a tree . Obviously the bandit couldn’t drive a powerful motor

Did you ever have the central locking shut it self down?

I rigged a pull cord behind the rear number plate to pop the boot lid.

Got quite good at climbing through the boot  .

Can't tell you the story about havin a TVR pass us at ******* mph, we were doing ****** mph, impressive :suspect:.

I did once get a call out to pick up a TVR .

Had to take the flatback and the trailer,

the thing was in a field in 3 pieces

Young lad walked away with out a scratch 😲.

had a phone call from a firm who  do many different makes of cars, told how lucky that mine has just arrived at immingham after  10 month wait , he and all the other makes have been told now to quote 2 years, due to the chips and now the war and a steel shortage ect,so what next? big surge in prices of second hand cars? its a awfull problem, what can you do?

Hmmm...

This is just crazy!

Some people used to replace their cars every 2 years...

... so now they have to order their next one at the same time as they take delivery of their new one?

Nice one Hackey.

Preferred the 12 valve, less temperamental than the 24 but yes what a motor.

Made the XJ6 before it look poor. HTSBO preferred the Jag, thought she was Royalty  .

Had a few Carltons as well apart from the silly distributor behind the engine and firewall being a pain, lovely cars especially the Auto's.

Always liked big saloon cars from, my very first MK 111 Zephyr onwards.

Happy Daze 8) .

Keep safe and enjoy your motoring while we still can 8) .

Well it's a small world, my favourite cars are big old vauxhalls and opels as I'm sure you can guess from my name on here. I have had senator mk 1's and 2's ,Monza GSE's, Carlton GSI's and for a while I had a Lotus carlton until it came to having it serviced and needing new brake pads which would have involved me selling my house and my liver to pay for it all.I too prefer the 12 valve engines, more reliable and easier to work on. I use to own a ex fire chiefs senator which was police spec but without all the lights etc, that was a good car. I now have a 2.5 senator and a monza GSE both rotting away in a garage While I drive around in a Focus estate 16 plate with all the toys which I love LOL

Those old 3.3 Viscount were pretty good certainly better than the wheezing V6 Mk1V Zodiac.

Straight 6 Rulz OK

Vauxhalls and opels don't go for large amounts of money due to plebs like J .Clarkeson slagging them off all the time because he was sponsored by ford. You now have basic escorts and capris etc fetching stupid money but if you go back to the 80's you couldn't give them away, must admit though I did like the Granada ghia X.
