Trying To Work Out Mileage For Local Journey?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

As above, Google maps, says 7.8 miles, carer is saying 19 miles, carer is very trustworthy, think they are just getting it wrong

journey is: S7, Sharrow lane to Bole Hill to mushroom  lane to Hallamshire Hospital to Eccleshall Rd to Sharrow Lane, stopping at all, reasonable traffic,

cant seem to insert image

7.8 miles sounds about right to HH.

Add on return journey and you have just under 19 miles.

Not necessarily.

As mentioned above it may simply be single versus return trip.

If the carer is claiming 19 miles per visit, they would be near enough OK.

Do they claim travel to/from their home or wherever they work out of as well? Otherwise its 7 miles as per Mr Blokes googling

Like bargepole says, Google maps says 7 miles plus, rtn, add on stop start, etc, surely no more than ten miles

And they may be going a slightly longer route, for whatever reason.

My apologies. I had misread and now fully understand that it was, indeed, a round-trip that was being claimed for.

Best wishes for sorting it out. 👍

well, i do wonder if it is her car, we went to Wheata dental clinic, Wordsworth Ave, Parson Cross, from sharrow lane, last friday, lots of 4x4 traffic/school run, etc, and were stuck in traffic going, had to go though greystones etc, come out crosspool, etc, coming back quite smooth, penistone rd,

came to 20 miles, she showed me petrol gauge and it had used 20 miles, really got to sort this, times are tough.

If you had the location switched on your phone you can easily check the mileage of the trip in Google Maps, it saves everything.
