Grand National Sporting Event. ? or not

Recommended Posts

Cheering on dangerous events from the safety of the stands is human nature.

Boxing, MMA, car racing, lion taming, even war.

look pretty good to me, 250 to 1? so the likely hood today with 28 races is almost nil?

I was shocked to read that 4 horses had been destroyed at Cheltenham in 4 days this year. Something is very wrong. Perhaps when they decide to shoot the lame horse because it's no longer exploitable they should shoot the jockey as well.

Sadly there are some owners that see their horses solely as  a commodity  and when its no longer worth its feed, they'll just have it put down it's a cruel sport.

its no way a cruel sport these hoses are pampered and loved by owners trainers and riders and when the horses are finished they get retired out not put down.

Horses most certainly enjoy racing.  The whip shouldn't  hurt the horse if used correctly and there are strict rules regarding the use.  I'd say the horse that wins the Grand National is the bigger hero than the winning jockey.  There can be no doubt that Red Rum is the biggest hero that has won the Grand National. The greatest combination of horse and jockey  both being heroes has to be Aldaniti and Bob Champion.  Also Rachel Blackmore became an hero for female sportspeople last year when she was the first female jockey to ride the winning horse.

Perhaps someone should jump on your back and horse whip you.
