Gas And Electric Bills

I'm thinking of going on the streets, the only people who are not affected by this cost of living crisis is the Beggars.

No bills, the odd sarnie, a cuppa and an occasional coin or two..

And they know how to wrap up warm.

And they share their stuff , unlike the multi million pound utilities, super markets , land owners and ruling classes who talk the talk in Government while carrying living the life of Riley .

The overseas holidays that we have decided against, until things sort themselves out, more than pays for the increase in utility bills.

I suspect you are only joking, but if people are spending more money on bills they will have less money to give to people on the streets.

In fact its going to be the same for charities. A lot of people will be pulling direct debits to them, got to look after yourself first,

Just seen on the commodities markets,

Gas has fallen in price from a record £400--to £240.

Oil has fallen from £120 a barrel to £98.

Will we be getting a reduction in bills?

There is more chance of our Pat turning off a TV programme she hates.

Just watched Dispatches (8.0pm channel 4) 'Why are your energy bills so high?'

This crisis has been a long time coming, it was a known risk back in 2013 when small energy companies began going bust and the government didn't do anything to regulate it. We the punters (or mugs) are now having to pay back the losses for these foolhardy companies that failed. It's the financial crisis all over again.

They keep the profits when it's going well but pass on the debts to the public when it all goes t*** up.

We are paying astronomical bills that will break people, to make up for companies' mistakes. I'm fed up of being expected to bail out these reckless speculators.

Just put this post in Labour party thread. Perhaps it belongs here as well.

The excuse will be along the lines of we paid for the stuff when prices were high so have to sell high to cover our costs etc

Did they mention the £500's worth of green levies originally imposed under Labour?

Gas has now tumbled to £164.. whatever they sell it in.

Its now more than halved in price!

No one seems in a hurry to cut bills....

My supplier Bulb are insisting I pay £205pm.

I've told them to do one and I'll pay what I can. If I end up in arrears then so be it.
