Absolutely right Patricia, it's hoped a developer takes it on board. We used to see the smoke from the fires when at the speedway.

Did they never catch the arsonists?

If they've not sorted out the problem kids that burnt the first place down it could well be something that's keeping developers away.

Exactly right.

I doubt it, there are too many ways to get away from the area.

The whole area needs a big clean up but it will take a lot of money to do so

Exactly, but it does seem a waste of good land to me. I’m sure if it ever got into the right hands and they turned it back into a ski slope, a lot of working class lads and lasses who had never been skiing before, would love it. Now that skiing is on the tv so much now, with the Winter Olympics and the Paralympics young people would love to practise on it.

There will be no more live skiing on terrestrial television after this weekend now until February 2026. After a brief flurry in interest it will soon wane.

cannot they do something like the zip line in wales that does well and a indoor snow dome on the top and a ski slope and a few eateries?

The negative to any redevelopment of the area is the access.
The road leading in to the site has to pass under a narrow railway bridge.
