I've definitely got three of those symptoms and they've lasted since 2019

I really hope 'Long Covid' doesn't become an actual thing that you can get a sick note for

The unions and public sector will abuse it

Long Covid can be an extremely debilitating condition.

I've heard on the radio from 2 consultants working in hospitals who have it, and are struggling to function, let alone work.

If your doctor thinks that you're too ill to work because of it, then you will be able to get a sick note.

Without any long term studies how can they know that its even a thing?

Anyone who feels a bit tired can then have extended time off work.....on full pay

Agree.  Looking at the symptoms described, I've had most of them since the 1990's.

Possibly related, but back in 1975 (or thereabouts) I caught a nasty  flu which put me in bed for a few days. Shortly after I had "recovered", I began experiencing bouts of fatigue and tiredness- mow the lawn and that was it for the whole day. No matter how long I slept, it wouldn't go away. This went for months but it lifted very gradually; it must have been 18 months until the last vestige disappeared. Believe it to be called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

How do you feel about the UK Government writing off £4.3 billion taken by fraudsters from furlough and other business support in lockdown?
