I hope Weatherspoons don't change the name of gammon and chips because apparently it's offensive to a certain segment of the population.

I don’t care what the spice are called. I just wish the manufacturers would go back to using gelatin or whatever it was before they started using India rubber. Tackling a bag of jelly babies or wine gums nowadays is to invite a case of repetitive jaw strain injury.

Try the vegan ones, they're often much softer

I think I've said this before, but there's a case to be made for a class action suite against Thornton's Toffee.

I'm sure they were aware of how it was rotting the teeth of a whole generation.

But in those days, we didn't blame everybody else for our own poor choices.  :)

trastrick, teeth didn’t have chance to rot with Thorntons special toffee. That stuff used to get such a grip it would just pull them out by the roots 😂 Tasted lovely though.

You do realise that changing recipes has absolutely nothing to do with upsetting people or not and is an entirely commercial decision. It might not have mattered when there were only a few thousand people who would not buy your product because of its ingredients but now there are enough of them that not catering for them significantly cuts into a company's potential customer base.

Thorntons was the posh stuff that aunties would bring up from downtown.

We got the cheap stuff from the corner shop.

Think I'd better start ordering a bottle of N. E. England ale of colour, next time I go to the pub, just to be on the safe side.
