What a full life and fantastic career.  If you want an odd but brilliant little film where he stands out as part of a great ensemble cast (Robert Redford, Dan Aykroyd, River Phoenix, amongst others), have a look at Sneakers.

Yes he was a great actor R.I.P.

I've seen a few of his films and  enjoyed them all. Guess Whose Coming To Dinner was one of my favourite films ever.

I second what janie48 has said.  He was a great actor and Guess whose Coming To Dinner was a brilliant film.

I watched a film last year which he was in with Lulu, To Sir With Love, I enjoyed that to.

RIP

Just been watching him discussing Guess Whose Coming To Dinner on YouTube someone may like to see.

I haven't seen Lillies of the FieldI would love to see that.

As Cressida has described him  " a likeable person"

One of the reasons he is getting a lot of tributes is not only due to his acting skills but also because he appears to have been such a decent man.

Thanks for the video.  He looked upset when he was talking about his father.
I’m sure they will repeat some of his films. Hopefully Lillies Of The Field will be one of them.

I also agree with Cressida a likeable person.

Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner, was groundbreaking, and ties up with so many of the views held today .
However it would be many years before those views were accepted.
