David Ra2   10 #1 Posted December 14, 2021 My central heating boiler is erratic it is an Ideal Logic 24 it has recently been serviced and only just moved into property and could see that it had not been serviced in a long time, Problems   It takes a long time for water to run hot. Boiler keeps saying pump overrun. The radiators that are further away from the boiler only get hot if thermostat is set at high setting. Would a stronger pump help ? It is a three bedroomed bungalow.                                            Thanks David
 Share this content via...
Pyrotequila   402 #2 Posted December 14, 2021 A quick check online suggests that the boiler may not be powerful enough for the size of your property  "The Ideal Logic Plus 24 Combi Boiler is suitable for smaller properties along with apartments and flats with no more than one bathroom." *Wallace*   333 #3 Posted December 15, 2021 New boiler time then if the boiler is underpowered can’t see fitting a stronger pump helping I’m getting Bogart vibes on the African Queen chugging along. It certainly is a kick in the wallet but you won’t regret getting the heating sorted.
 Share this content via...
andysm   17 #4 Posted January 16, 2022 Long time for water to run hot could simply be due to the distance/amount of pipework between the boiler and the tap.  It sounds like pump overrun is a normal feature of some boilers: https://blog.fantasticservices.com/what-does-pump-overrun-mean/  Furthest rads getting hot only if thermostat is set high - you mean the main room thermostat or the radiator thermostat? If radiator thermostat needs to be high then put it high! If room thermostat then this could be because the room thermostat is in the wrong place. Have a look at "How to use your room and radiator thermostats efficiently" on youtube.
 Share this content via...
