Accrington came with a game plan to close down Wednesday at every opportunity & aided & abetted by an awful referee they got a result…

 

Dont understand why DM felt he had to change the starting 11 or the bizarre decision to take off Bannan with 20 minutes left ..

Fair result on the night, Accy stopped the WBs getting forward and closed down from the front, what they lack in skill and finesse they made up for with strength and commitment, they made us come through the middle where it was condensed and they out muscled us.

Sykes is a real unit at the back, proper CB in the old fashioned mode, love to see him in owls shirt.

One of those games where you could see from early on it wasn't going to be easy, bit baffled why three changes were made from Saturday unless players had knocks, I thought we might have snatched it when Pato nicked a goal but our defensive frailties at set pieces told again. Need to win a tough away at Gillingham now, ref was poor tonight too btw.
