The Pharmaceutical companies are worth Billions. It's Big Big Business.

Like all business, they are there to make money.

As much money as possible, to keep the shareholders happy.

 

And you don't make massive profits by making people better, you make mega profits by keeping them sick, (or making them think they are sick,) and flogging them more and more 'medicines.'  

 

Cynical maybe, but worth bearing in mind...

How do they keep people sick?  Which 'medicines' are you thinking of?  Presumably not all medicines from pharmaceutical companies are 'medicines'?

Id agree...but its ********, they make mega profits by developing new and updated expensive drugs, they overcharge for drugs, especially to the likes of the NHS etc. How do they make people sicker? how do they know how much to give you to make you sick but not kill you? killing you wouldnt be in their interest for profit.

Life itself means you'll get sick so they have a ready profit for everybody thats alive, the more people born means more profit for them over their lifetimes.

For heavens sake Anna get a grip.

Yes businesses make money .Oil,food,tobacco,wine,brewers etc

They provide and customers consume.

You have a choice what you consume for the main part.

There have been some scandals in the pharmaceutical and medical world,such as the liberal dishing out of anti depressants and the current problems,particularly in the USA of opioids.

However that should not lead anyone to believe that our Health Service is driven by a policy of promoting sickness on behalf of Pharmaceutical companies

Worth bearing in mind indeed.

 

A vicious cycle, and an obvious but unrecognized conflict of interest, that does not neccessarily lead to better health and general well being. It often leads to a dependency, and unwanted side effects.

 

They got something for everything, even Weed. Sleep aids, constipation, diharea, obesity, gender transformation surgery, acid indigestion, and many others that regular excercise and proper diet would solve, but hey, it's all 'free". "Ask your doctor about...." is the TV big pharma mantra. And they do.

 

And they'll sell you drugs for the unwanted side effects, too. 

 

Doctors will tell you there are alot of needless treatments demanded, by some folks who clog up the doctor's surgery, but are forced to  go along and everybody gets rich.

 

Remember tobacco haters?  They are now on a tear to legalize pot.

It's a Eurocentric view of the world, that claims to speak for the world, that has caused untold death and destruction, and continues to do so.

Why Eurocentric.

USA has been the dominant force for years in its interference on world affairs from the Middle East to Afghanistan to South America etc.

 

In my adopted third world country, (Dominican Republic) there is a natural common sense distrust of politicians, especially authoriarian "leftist reformers".  They, like me, believe that all their politician lie, and tolerate them as long as they don't interfere with people's enjoyment of life. We live harmoniously with our neighbors, with no hate or loathing based on political worldviews, or racial, or sexual preference.

Pretty  much the same here apart from most of us mistrust politicians of all stripes.

 

(Maybe we should be sending missionaries to the U.K., and U.S.  to teach them how to live together, harmoniously )

Don’t bother.Concentrate on your near neighbour Haiti.

They announced the usual COVID curfews, mask mandates a couple of years ago, but they were largely ignored,  due to lack of enforcement infrastructure. You don't go into hillside communities, and tell them they have to stay in their modest shacks, or can't go down the street to the local coffee shop, or go to church, or visit family.

 

The result?

Somewhat different circumstances than the worlds major population centres.

Jersey fared reasonably well

Among the lowest COVID death rates and hospitaization, in the World.

When it comes to talking about the vaccine, I reckon people fall into 3 distinct categories.

PRO VAXXERS - these are the people who believe in the vaccine, believe it is a good thing. They've taken all the jabs and boosters they've been offered so far and will continue to take any jabs they are offered in the future. They will continue to believe in the vaccine, despite there not being a shred of evidence to prove that it slows the transmission of Covid or makes symptoms less severe in those who do get it.

 

ANTI--VAXXERS - these are the people who never believed in the vaccine in the first place. They never took the jabs and never will. I think they were right all along

PRO-VAXXERS WHO SUBSEQUENTLY BECAME ANTI-VAXXERS - these are the people like me, who started out as gullible sheep, believing what we were told - who took the vaccines willingly, then realised too late and all we had "achieved" was to damage our own health and make tons of money for the big pharmas and their cronies in the process.

 

I have now come to the opinion that the Covid vaccine is, never has been, nor ever will be of any value against the disease. I think that it's,  at best, just a cynical, money-making ploy - and at worst, it's a damaging, experimental poison.

I reckon

1.Approaching 90% because they believe that there is compelling evidence that it has made symptoms less severe

2 Approx 10 % who have their own beliefs and choice

3  People like you who shave a point or two off the above
