COVID THREAD

Recommended Posts

Well well well, I thought it'd take a bit longer than this to prove it......

Lockdowns, school closures and limiting gatherings only reduced COVID mortality by 0.2% at 'enormous economic and social costs', study finds

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10466995/New-study-says-lockdowns-reduced-COVID-mortality-2-percent.html
Meta-analysis of 24 studies found Covid lockdown restrictions caused just 0.2% reduction in virus deaths
Economists who carried out review said border closures had virtually zero effect on Covid mortality (-0.1%)
However, researchers found closing nonessential shops was most effective intervention, causing 10.6% fall.

The review, led by a Johns Hopkins University professor, argued that border closures had virtually zero effect on Covid mortality, reducing deaths by just 0.1 per cent.

And that, of course, is before we account for the MASSIVE social and economic costs of suppression....

And it isn't just the Daily Mail :

Lockdowns had little or no impact on COVID-19 deaths, new study shows

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2022/jan/31/lockdowns-had-little-or-no-impact-covid-19-deaths-/

Lockdowns in the U.S. and Europe had little or no impact in reducing deaths from COVID-19, according to a new analysis by researchers at Johns Hopkins University.

The lockdowns during the early phase of the pandemic in 2020 reduced COVID-19 mortality by about 0.2%, said the broad review of multiple scientific studies.

“We find no evidence that lockdowns, school closures, border closures, and limiting gatherings have had a noticeable effect on COVID-19 mortality,” the researchers wrote.

But the research paper said lockdowns did have “devastating effects” on the economy and contributed to numerous social ills.

“They have contributed to reducing economic activity, raising unemployment, reducing schooling, causing political unrest, contributing to domestic violence, and undermining liberal democracy,” the report said.

Just wait when all the social and economic costs become plain, this is just the start of it.

Players have collapsed  on the pitch before the vaccine/covid (Marc-Vivien Foé, Fabrice Muamba other footballers and players in other sports).  Matt has made some interesting points on Twitter though.

Not in the same numbers. He said he couldn't remember one in a game he played in and could only recall two others in other games. Sommat fishy is happening that needs investigating.

I'll not bother. I'd have to research the company and see who funds them
