pattricia 574 #1 Posted December 1, 2021 (edited) I’ve really had programmes I like this week and last week.! What with The Great Escape last week, and now the Attack on Pearl Harbor last night, it’s great to get interesting programmes at last. Servicemen from both sides still remembered the scenes with disbelief. The eye witness testimony is riveting. It’s a three parter which concludes tonight. Thank you Channel 5. Thirsty Relic 208 #7 Posted December 2, 2021 Oh, this is a thread abnout a TV programme! I opened it as I was unsure if there had been another attack on Pearl Harbour (and if so, who's doing the attacking), or if this was a very late post reporting on the original attack! swarfendor437 14 #9 Posted December 26, 2021 (edited) If you 'enjoy' dramatic history, then you should take a look at the Dutch Film directed and produced 'The Forgotten Battle' based on true events that happened where three individuals become entwined in this story. A British glider pilot, a reluctant Dutch girl who joins the resistance after the execution of her brother, and a German storm trooper who can see the futility of war. We always hear about fighter planes and bombers of Word War II - we weren't aware of the brave Glider Pilots that flew to that fatal battle at Arnhem - this is linked but is about the Battle of the Schelde. Gripping throughout. Whilst clearly makeup is used for limbloss, some of the scenes where soldiers have lost either a leg or an arm from a 50 mm German canon can't be underestimated.
