I can remember when Stella Artois was considered a fashionable and manly drink. [Advertising slogan: "Stella's for the fellas" – cf Yorkie bars.]

 

I also remember when prawn cocktails and Harvey Wallbangers were considered to be the height of sophistication. We consumers don't half fall for it.

When it was good it was good, but by the time I stopped drinking in 2005 it was pretty bland.

Compared to Carlsberg special brew & White lightning snakebites it was phish 🧐🤣

Wasnt Stella 6% about 20 years ago?

 

If you want a proper lager with a bit of flavour then i recommend the 'Debowe Polish Lager' at 7%

 

You can get it from a few Polish shops on London Road 👍

Nearly all Stella is brewed in Wales by Whitbreads from 1976and  in Newport, Wales since 1979 by Interbrew  now  AB InBev UK.

 

Nearly every bottle or can or pint with a foreign name is brewed in the UK almost all of the following:

Budweiser, Beck's, Corona,Leffe, Hoegoarden,  Busch Beer, Landshark, Michelob, Michelob, in Newport

Caffreys, Cobra, Coors, Molson Canadian, Pravha and Staropramen are made in Burton on Trent

 

So assume every beer is brewed in the UK unless it specifically says otherwise on the contents label

 

For wine drinkers some former Californian wines are now Spanish or Italian eg Blossom Hill Soft and Fruity

I’ve not seen imported Stella for ages these are a bottle and a can I have in both brewed in the UK

 

I think the company have been clever with words yes it has been brewed in Belgium for 600 years but the can you have most likey wasn’t.
