Ashes Series - 2021

Recommended Posts

The openers we have have had enough chances and need replacing,Bairstow is playing his one good innings in six,not good enough but who else is there.

Managed to get through to the end without losing a wicket, are we tempting date yet again?

30 without loss, highest opening partnership for us this series.

Skin of the teeth job, never knew Hammeds nickname was baby Boycott.

Not seen the days lowlights yet as im at work, but Oz came within a whisker and will be bitterly dissapointed, Butler off home before hobart in 5 days time. so Billings may get a game, question marks over englands two top performers here, Bairstow and Stokes both carrying war wounds.

Steve Smith the leggy takes a wicket, is there anything these ozzie lads cant do?

Into day 3 of the final ashes test at Hobart with Oz starting to build a lead, its been finely poised at times, shame Robinson got an injury just as he was looking a real threat, a lot of green on the track suited him and Oz really profited from his bad luck.

Same old story from the batsmen, players getting a start but not making a telling score.

Good to see Robinson back and bowling for the 2nd innings, these 4am starts for day/nighters are a killer for english cricket lovers, by the time Im awake the final sessions in play.

Looks like the target going to be pushing up to 300,with our fragile batting it’s not going to happen unless we can get Root or Stokes with a big score.

Good start though 50 partnership.

Optimisms drying up quick now, Crawley gets out in that fashion so often, you could hit replay to all his dimissals and see the same end result countless times, and Malan never looked comfortable

Can’t believe what I’ve seen,9 down for 60 runs.

Well glad thats over, ended as it begun, with English batsmen waving the white flag, Root apart as he could do nothing about that ball, tame surrender and this is far from a brilliant Aussie side.

You know what to expect from Oz its just a question of application and mental toughness, hard work in the nets, but the result was never in doubt from the moment England chose to bat on a green top in humid conditions and capitulated in the familiar fashion that weve become accustomed to.

So they fly off to the caribbean shortly and the Windies bowlers must be licking their lips in anticipation of a demoralised batting line up that hates pace and bounce, and turn come to that.

I love a Windies tour, some of those grounds are just paradise to the eye, but Im dreading this next tour and what may come!
