theres plenty of gold/silver being bought ,i dont count that as tat,i collect silver vesta cases and i know what i am buying and there where some nice ones,but the shops where busy as well ,also pubs,food outlets all doing great business,hard to find somewhere to sit/eat,so its good for chesterfield,so why dont sheffield do the same one day a week?

Definitely Chesterfield on a Thursday is the best locally. Leek on Saturdays isn't bad either, or at least it wasn't before the pandemic; haven't been since yet so everything might have changed now.

nobody has mentioned rovveram on wednesdays, if you like Chesterfield market you will like rotherham, a lot of Chesterfield stallholders go there to ply their trade. 

Also Chesterfield market is not a patch on what it was about 10 years ago.

Because Sheffield is now run by the upwardly mobile mob , tat and flea markets are not their style , Division Street style markets with twee little trinkets and silk scarves all topped of with Indian wind chimes is the way this lot want our rough old lovely City to go .

I would much rather be part of the ambitious, elevated, progressive, forward-thinking "this lot" than part of the backward thinking, rose-tinted, delusional, inverse snobbery filled "your lot"

Is there an audience for it? Big city is very different from small town.

 

Unlike many of the other locations mentioned, the city already has dedicated antiques, second-hand, vintage shops scattered around including a whole row of them in a long-standing area at London Road.  There are even dedicated places springing up in Kelham Island so question has to be asked if there is any business case for further saturation by including it around the markets when there is already supply in better and more permanent locations.
