Moor Shops

Recommended Posts

I just went looking on Google Street view to see my old shop (J&F Stone) at the bottom of the Moor.

Obviously, I am going back a long way to the 70's, but I last visited Sheffield maybe 10 years ago? Though it seems like last week in my head.

It has all gone?? When did that happen? It does look like a thriving area now, though I am sad to think that buildings that were very important to me are gone.

Your brilliant Rocker...

Strange thing is 10 past 12 and not a bus or tram in sight.

Wonder if they were on strike.

The last time trams ran up and down the Moor was October 1960.

Correct,

Bus strike took place in the Autumn of 1959.

Just found it strange, not a bus in sight at Mid-day.

I think the Star and Telegraph were on strike at the same time.
