cuttsie   1,090 #1 Posted October 7, 2021 (edited) Once or twice I went to Owlerton with our Alan , and I remember being separated  from him on Penistone Road because I had to use juniors turnstile . It was a freeeetening at the time because the kids one was short and we would get in perhaps 10 mins before our dads  got through the massive Q that was adults. I remember asking why I couldn't go in with him and he said . "Because its for mesters" . Funny what comes to you int it . cuttsie   1,090 #3 Posted October 7, 2021 (edited) There was a time when a couple of bob into the right hand got you through regardless of the price on the entrance door . So I have been told any way . And then there was the sliding gate where every now and then a little knock and the slider would mysteriously open just enough for a quick entry by some one in the know .
