What Did Mavis Have For Tea?.

Recommended Posts

Facebook is down so I can't see her usual photograph she posts of her evening meal.

Does anyone know what Mavis off Parsons Cross has had for tea tonight?.

I'm struggling to cope.

I'm just back from a grueling evening at the gym. I don't know what Mavis had for her dinner (only common folk call it tea) nor do I care.

Your evening meal is Tea, not Gruel, nor is it Dinner.

Dinner is the posh suthernas name for it

Gruel is another name for porridge like stuff - for kids or breakfast.

We're all Yorkshire, aren't we?

We always used to call our evening meal 'tea'. After all, we had 'school dinners' in the middle of the day! However this all went to pot when packed lunches started at schools....

Oh my god I'm surrounded by savages.

At school you were served Lunch.

At home you had your evening meal was dinner. I thought everyone knew this.

At school, we were served Dinner by the appropriately named Dinner Ladies (which I think was even their job title - before PC of course!)
