Can anyone remember when they were first aware of charity shops in Sheffield and any stories?

Excellent question.

Actual 'Charity Shop's' ?

Jumble sales were every where.

Church Hall's, School Hall's , Boy Scouts huts etc etc.

I can remember a few 2nd hand Clothes shops, Collene's London Rd.

and the Rag and Tag market of course.

The first Charity shop I can remember would be 'The Blind Shop' on Cecil Sq (Dan Bradbury's old workshop)

But always thought it was more like a big sorting office.

Keep safe 🧐
