We were with Utility Point and they went bust, we got automatically moved to EDF, the current electric price per kwh in Yorkshire is 20.08p

The standing charge is also very important, you need to include that too.

Typical standing charges range from:

  • electricity – 5p to 60p per day
  • gas – 10p to 80p per day

Me too, fixed until March 2022 ☹️

Hope Zog don't chuck the towel in for gas, I've got 22 month left fixed with them.

All rather sad- but remember that each rival supplier's electricity/gas arrives via precisely the same cable/pipe.

So all the appearance of 'consumer choice' is artificial.

Bit better than having the drive / yard / pavement dug up every time you change supplier.

Just remember when comparing market prices to look at both unit costs and daily charges, one usually out balances the other. We are in for a period of being stuffed big style, as I see it we are unable to take our normally expensive holiday abroad, so we can more than afford to turn up the power during a cold spell. I’m tempted to have a look at solar energy, but need to find a user that will give me the facts, warts and all.
