Using Old Chicken Droppings In Greenhouse Beds.

Recommended Posts

When I had chickens the coop was on slabs so I used to put bark chippings down for the hens to scrat in when they were in the coop and obviously they made their mess in it. I have a bin that is full of the stuff and has been stood for about 8 years will it be okay to mix in the soil in the beds in the greenhouse? I have emptied the greenhouse and started sieving all the soil getting rid of roots etc. I was thinking of putting it in now when the beds have been sieved and mixing it in then it would be stood till May when the beds are next used.  I was also going to mix some shredded paper in that I have as well. I grow the tomatoes in pots that are placed in the beds about 2 inches above the level of the soil into the beds, I usually just plant the cucumbers straight into the beds. Does anyone see any problems with this?
