Have you considered that a little backtracking now might save a lot of grief in the long term? It would only hurt a little and might get the 'kick me' sign off you. You could say you mis-spoke.

Many of the "left-leaning folk of the 'Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire'" on here would consider that my political views make me at least a pseudo-Tory. It's not your views that make me think you're a troll - nobody who's as interested in politics as you seem to be would repeatedly demonstrate such a poor understanding of how our electoral system works. Successful trolls are more subtle.

Do other nations trawl their rough inner city estates for the most course of inhabitants to represent their government?   Of course they don't, but it would seem that many Labour voters think it's a grand idea.  People like Rayner are suited to menial tasks; falsely elevating somebody of her ilk (who would be better suited to using a mop) to such a senior position is farcical, but Labour has a history of doing this (Prescott and Abbott to name a couple).

My partner was once called Tory scum (or something similar) outside the town hall when, on being accosted by a Socialist Worker seller, she called into question his credentials as a worker. I’ll never forget the look on her face when she told me the story, lol.

On a local level, its often the case that local councillors/activists are not always workers, workers are much too busy.

Well I can’t argue with Caswall on a couple of points. Left wing champion Two Jags Prescott was happy to bin his principles when a lordship beckoned, he should have been in Viz where Billy Conneley was rightly lampooned. As for Abbott, Yeah mopping the floors would be great except I wouldn’t trust her to know which end of the mop to hold.

Indeed. There is a subset of people who attack Abbott, but don’t ever comment upon Helen Whatley, for example. I wouldn’t like to speculate on the reason why.

 

As for Toby Young, I’d hope that we would all agree that he is a proper example of someone who deserves to be called “scum”. He’s an horrendous public figure.
