The era it's  players , managers and supporters are on our way out . 

 

Can not see the Owls ever hitting the high spots again . R.I.P. Len  you gave us a laugh while with the Owls , Laughs in short supply with the millionaires now in the game .

Ashurdt, Burtenshaw years were truly awful for SWFC.   But he was a trier.

Followed Ashurst's Owls the length and breadth of the country in the old 3rd division. For a guy who as a player was a dour full back he tried to play attacking football - when it clicked it was great - but we always seemed suspect in the centre of defence and let in no end of soft goals. But thanks Len for Wylde, Tynan, Hope, Bradshaw, Leman, Rushberry, Walden, Johnson.

 

Always seemed to play better away in a small ground where travelling fans could whip up an atmosphere - hard at Hillsborough when the ground was well over three quarters empty.

Len Ashurst stopped the rot & laid the foundations for Big Jack ….he brought in some decent players as well …Rest in Peace ..
