I tend to use Sainsbury’s at Millhouses, filled up with diesel on Thursday, it was very quiet and cost £1.329 ltr.

The consumer always pays at the pump irrespective of the market prices. If the oil companies have bought forward at advantageous prices then its extra profit. If not then any increase is paid for by the consumer.

This also applies to whatever their currency position is for a dollar related commodity.

Then of course prices rise rapidly but reduce very gradually when the market turns.
