Derby County Enter Administration

Chairman puts it down to covid with shortage of funds, but DC have lived above their means for quite a period, not unlike SWFC, chased the challis of prem gold and overspent, poor leadership and forward planning, but sky dangle that huge carrot and owners get sucked in, with fans urging them to spend, but quick to turn when the reality comes home to roost.

FFP and parachute payments once more in the spotlight, where does the EFL draw its line, who dictates the outcome of the championship, sky or the EFL.

glad to see that statement of the fans want all the best players, often chairman paying to much,to try to compete and if it doesnt work, the fans blame them for trying to get to the prem, fans are very fickle, its hard to get up from the championship, and if you go up like utd,and many more you dont stay there,so you come down and a yoyo comes in place, wolves did it the best way and still sign players on loan even now ,only paying the big fee if the help get better results, but while ever teams are not allowed to compete due to the parachute payments, these problems wont go away.

They won’t be the last by a long chalk, both Sheffield clubs need professional ownership, SWFC certainly is short of this, SUFC’s Arabic Prince appears to have his heart in the job, hopefully his brain will accompany it.

Meanwhile the PL clubs pay silly money with Ronaldo reportedly on £503,184.88 a week or over £26m a year, add another top player and Man Utd are paying out more in one year than the £39m teams in the Championship are allowed to lose in 3 years. While ever the gulf of money is so vast Championship club owners will overstretch themselves in the hope of reaching the promised land where they will get millions of pounds from media companies like Sky and BT.
