I guess knowing the shape/size/weight of the thing that you're putting a hole through would be important.

Mate has a plasma cutting machine that might do this.   He’s in Thorpe Hesley though.

yep,could do, but just wondering what shape it is as  ive only got a small pillar drill an its easier on there 👍

True enough.

Think my pillar drill might do about 8 " from edge to centre.

Course it could be the steel is in situ too
