Loco Crashed - Mission Impossible

Some of you no doubt will have seen the steam loco crashed for the filming of Mission Impossible into the quarry near Stoney Middleton

Anyone with info re that loco

Where did it come from ?

What class of engine was it ?

Sounds like it was meant to be a 'typical French loco' rather than a replica of any specific design.

It was a replica made for the movie and for that scene.  I believe it was built on a truck chassis, with smoke projectors and stuff for the crash.

Looked at the video'... very realistic... good job that it all seems to gone in one take !...  imagine building it all again !
