Can Client Do Solicitors Job?

If a seller's solicitor can't be bothered to claim £500 owed for his client from the buyers solicitor, can the client claim back the money from the buyers solicitor instead?

Post #2 is right, unless the debt is the subject of a Solicitor's Undertaking- in which case only the solicitor in whose favour the Undertaking was given has any right to recover the money.
