Mister M 1,608 #1 Posted July 29, 2021 ITV has announced that the X Factor is to be axed. As ever, the Daily Mash have it spot on: Fears for future of music as X-Factor axed 29th July 2021 THE greatest era of British music ever known is feared to have ended forever with the cancellation of The X-Factor. ITV’s legendary music show launched the careers of the most gifted stars Britain has ever known, including Olly Murs, Fleur East and Sam Bailey. Fans are now afraid that a future Rak-Su could go undiscovered. Music journalist Jules Cook said: “We’ll never know another golden age of British music like this one. The world weeps. “The 2010 series alone brought us the matchless Matt Cardle, the unforgettable Cher Lloyd, global titans One Direction and the magisterial Wagner. That’s better than every band that came out of the 60s put together. “Are we really ready to deprive the world of the next JLS or Joe McElderry? Doesn’t the government have a moral duty to subsidise young, exciting artists like Reggie ‘n’ Bollie? “Without the X-Factor acts will have to hone their craft playing live, write their own songs, and sell themselves on nothing more than their music. It’s like going back to the Dark Ages.” Fears for future of music as X-Factor axed | The Daily Mash
 Share this content via...

Baron99 775 #9 Posted July 30, 2021 But I think we've got to expect it's going to be replaced by something as equally puerile? Either that or another run of all the James Bond films followed by all the Harry Potter films, AGAIN.
 Share this content via...
hackey lad 3,947 #10 Posted July 30, 2021 Nowt wrong with Bond films but you are right it will be replaced with a show with wannabe celebrities ,hosted by z listers .
 Share this content via...

There's still "the rap game" on BBC 3 - which sounds so awful I can hardly acknowledge it. If ever there was a genre ill-suited to the x factor treatment, it's rap music. PRESLEY 1,222 #12 Posted July 31, 2021 I'm glad this show has come to an end, no more silly Louie Walsh putting complete rubbish talentless acts through , two spring to mind, Rylan Clarke and Jedward, the most infuriating thing about this is good talented acts were sent home whilst the Idiots mentioned romped to fame and a big fortune, Scandless.
