BigAl1   142 #13 Posted July 24, 2021 Possibly no longer news when a tram crashes into something on a level crossing  I wonder if we will get the denials that there are any safety issues at the crossing (all the fault of the road vehicle jumping the lights?) and then we see a major redesign
 Share this content via...

None involving Supertram according to RAIB.  Because a rail vehicle was involved and an injury to a person there will be a full RAIB inquiry. dutch   68 #16 Posted July 24, 2021 Trams stuck at cathedral today. Points have broke. No accident but they reckon it's going to take few hours to get it fixed.
 Share this content via...
Baron99   775 #17 Posted July 24, 2021 (edited) Shouldn't this thread be attached to the earlier existing 'Tram Crash' thread.  It can't have been that bad as even Radio Sheffield hasn't mentioned it as far as I know yesterday?  One woman taken to hospital with minor injuries.  There will have been more turned up at hospital doing chores around the house & in the garden yesterday. Edited July 24, 2021 by Baron99
 Share this content via...
dutch   68 #18 Posted July 24, 2021 (edited) They had to break a broomstick and ram it in the points at cathedral to keep it in position for trams to drive again. For every problem is a solution. My answer was unclear, it should have read: 3 slight road accidents in 5 years according to Crashmap. None involving Supertram -ever- according to RAIB.  Because a rail vehicle was involved and an injury to a person there will be a full RAIB inquiry. There won’t be a full RAIB inquiry, they’ll do what they did with the previous two crashes, a brief review and possibly a safety digest.  The second tram train crash at Staniforth road didn’t even warrant an on site visit from the RAIB or interviews with the driver. In the first they interviewed the driver, but concluded no full investigation was needed.
 Share this content via...
