1960s/1970s Jewellers

Recommended Posts

Bought my girlfriend a gold bracelet, like the old fob watch chains, with a heart shaped catch  from Leslie Cass on Surrey Street in 1970 for her 18th birthday. Must have been appreciated as we're still together 51 years later!

Yes, Edwin McKenzie's shop was on Snig Hill until the late 1960s, then on Arundel Gate as shown above in the 1973 list.

Leslie Cass had a shop on Surrey Street (next to the Montgomery Hall) in the 1960s and 1970s - he also had other branches in Sheffield as shown in the 1973 list.

Was that McKenzie shop on Arundel Gate next/near to the Claymore pub ?

Fatorini on Barkers Pool.

My late cousin Michael Moore worked at Fattorinis.  for some years in the 60's & 70's. I also knew the watchmaker there who had previously worked with me  at English Steel but cant remember his name. Anyone remember them?

I remember Ronnie Wood who I knew as uncle Ronnie, he had a  shop in the Wicker. I can picture him now, always very smart and was good for a laugh!  He was a friend of my father.
