Excellent piece here by Janice Turner in The Times about the decision by World Athletics to not allow trans women to compete in female categories: Seb Coe keeps the flame alive for women’s sport.

When the veteran sportswomen Martina Navratilova and Sharron Davies demanded female representation they lost work and sponsorship, and faced vicious online attacks. Note again the real fear of potential personal and professional fallout that comes from speaking out about issues relating to the necessity of single sex spaces.  Brava to those women who find the courage to do so.

Heaven forbid it will get to the time when free speech will be limited to such an extreme degree that we won't even be able to say imo.    I do support free speech except when people make e.g.  racist and derogatory remarks and nasty put downs to those perhaps not quick enough to answer back.
