Have I Evolved Onion-Proof Eyes?

Recommended Posts

In the past when cutting and cooking onions my eyes would always sting and run, but now this no longer happens, I have no problems at all with onions. Have my eyes somehow become onion-proof, or are modern onions different to the old fashioned ones?

Well evolved is probably the wrong word.

It's likely that you've built up a tolerance.

The last year has turned you into a emotionless android, devoid of all humanity, empathy and feelings.

As you can see, it does have some benefits.

if someone feels that emotional about chopping an onion then they probably need professional help.

however, as the tearful response to chopping onions is a response to some of the chemicals in the onion, i'd suggest that the op has just encountered a variety of onion with less of these chemicals than others.

You're missing the bigger picture here.

Maybe he's a hardcore vegan (is there any other type??)

Or maybe the rising amount of oestrogen in the local water supply, from the birth control pill, is causing these mood fluctuations?
