iansheff   86 #1 Posted June 10, 2021 Does anyone know where I can buy tanalised timber to replace the rotten timber on the top of my fence panels. I need it to be 50mm x 15mm x 1820 mm. I have looked at B & Q, Wickes and Homebase but nothing there.
 Share this content via...
HallamGirl   43 #2 Posted June 10, 2021 I was reading that fencing and wood supplies are in desperately short supply at the minute (well all building supplies generally it seems, but especially wood), so you might be out of luck until Autumn when they're expecting things to settle down. A bit of a quadruple whammy of Covid, people having delayed building projects until we've come out of lockdown which also coincides with Spring when people start doing stuff to their gardens, shipping containers in short supply and issues with wood production in Scandinavia apparently. You could always try Arnold Lavers I guess and see what they've got though.
 Share this content via...

Janus   28 #4 Posted June 10, 2021 I was very pleased with 'The timber specialists' in Sheffield. I travelled from Rotherham, a round trip of 15 miles. Well worth it for the excellent service and a good price to boot. 01142316600
 Share this content via...

Janus   28 #11 Posted June 14, 2021 It seems after all the places you have tried now, the supply problem of diy & building materials must be quite bad.  Initially it was the Suez canal issue. There is also an issue in the Chinese ports area.  An outbreak of Covid-19 at one of the busiest ports in the world has led to global shipping delays - and could lead to shortages in the run up to Christmas according to industry experts. Guangdong province, with ports in the area, including Yantian, Shekou, Chiwan and Nansha experiencing issues and delays.  https://www.scotsman.com/read-this/delays-are-piling-up-covid-19-outbreak-at-chinese-port-could-lead-to-christmas-shortages-3271330
 Share this content via...
RJRB   688 #12 Posted June 14, 2021 Having been to both recently I find it hard to believe that Sheffield Timber on Herries Road and Hillsborough Fencing on Livesey Street cannot supply suitable  tanalised sections.
 Share this content via...
