That car bringing the ball on at the beginning is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen. Hope that’s not going to happen every game.

I was longing for it to break down - and I got the impression the commentator wanted it to as well!

Good to see the ex Spurs lad well but didn't the media overcook it.

Alex Scott quote I was so upset I phoned my mum to tell her I loved her.

Spain playing tonight, reminds me of a little story...

Was on holiday 2009 in Spain, me and my Brother in Law were walking through a park..

A group of young Spanish lads (9/10 years old) were playing football, the ball broke loose and landed at my feet, lets show em how to do it I said, and passed the ball to my B in L..

The youngsters quickly retrieved the ball, and we spent 15mins trying to win it back..

The skill they showed was remarkable, I said to my B in L "Spain will win the world cup".

2010 guess who won the world cup.

Wonder if any of those lads are playing tonight ?

Euro's Update!

OK, as I sit at home with a bottle of Old Speckled Hen at my side (I walked past Padders Bar but saw no light on and heard no sound at all, I assumed it was closed), all teams have played once, so I think it is time to see how our teams are progressing.

Wins for Belgium, Czechs, Portugal, France and the Netherlands

Draws for Italy and Spain

Losses for Turkey, Denmark

So, who can be happiest with their selections at this moment?

Congrats to ukdobby , wearysmith  and tinfoilhat

all of who selected 2 teams who both won their opening match!

The next update is planned for 10pm on the 19th, when all teams should have played twice.

Hmmm...

I think Italy may have won their first game Mr Thirsty...

... judging by the celebrations that went on in the 'Padders Bar' cellar! 🐭🐭🐭

as you've previously put on this thread, and to which I also said I'd bought a lot of.  With us 2 at it, I'm surprised they have any left.  Will find out when I call in tomorrow with an empty bag!

Does anybody have any Turkish cats that Padders could borrow?......if so, I know they'd be interested in exacting a tasty revenge!

Still £1-15 a bottle at Morrisons (Ecclesfield)  should be £1-75..

I've just stocked up on them for Friday's England match.

England will not get to the final,Portugal and France.

Agree on England,  but  don't think Portugal will either.

A younger Ronaldo might have carried team to it, but think there's not enough quality for him to do it at 36yrs old.

I can see France to win the tournament and Lukaku to be top scorer

Update!

Went to my Morrisons this afternoon and stocked up.  Two trays should get me up for the game, in-play refreshments and celebrations (not thinking of alternatives) for the remainder of the evening, and a few left for the weekend!

Why is beer so heavy?  It doesn't taste heavy when I drink it.
