John bycroft   0 #1 Posted June 8, 2021 I went to Cecil Rd School from 1952 to 1957. It was a bit of a dump with a very poor track record for kids passing the 11 plus. Nevertheless my overall memories were of a pleasant few years, except for one or two hiccups. only_me   11 #2 Posted June 10, 2021 I went there but in the 1970s, they had their centenary year in 1973. Nice little school we played around it a lot as kids with living nearby.
 Share this content via...

John bycroft   0 #4 Posted June 19, 2021 Thank you for forwarding the old thread. St Barnabus, Cecil Rd was indeed the church school, and was made of red brick. I knew that it had been demolished. Its a shame in as much as I would have liked to revisit and remember the various rooms. Understandable though. I would have gone to the reunion, had I known about it, but I was in the Far East at that time serving in the Navy.
