Colin Pitchfork To Be Released From Prison

I dont know if he has any personal wealth, but the one thing that will make them reoffend is if they are living in destitution with no reason to keep a clean slate.

I was listening to the news, and Pitchfork is a specialist in transcribing printed music into Braille to assist the blind, so perhaps his prospects of employment in life on the outside of prison may not be so bleak, from a financial point of view

How many? What figures are we talking about here?

According to the BBC website over 30 murderers killed again after release from prison in between the years 2000-2010.

His life wasn't that bleak when he raped and killed two teenagers though. As far as I can see he was gainfully employed with a wife and 2 kids before he started killing teenage girls. He wasn't a desperate junkie and a murder (or two) was a by-product of a robbery or something and he's got clean and learnt the error of his ways.  He raped and killed for his own gratification.

Put it this way, if he's let out, there will be members of the full-life tariff club feeling a bit hard done by.

A 17 year old boy admitted to one of the murders-according to the police.

He had learning difficulties.

His DNA did not match the identical samples found on the girls.

The police also failed to take the proper steps to secure the DNA screening of the local population enabling Pitchfork to evade capture.

Without the DNA evidence a boy with learning difficulties would today be being released on parole.

Probably important to point out that he's learnt that whilst in prison, as well as bringing his education up to degree level. He was a baker before he was convicted.

If the death penalty brigade had their way,  a boy with learning difficulties would be dead.

I don't disagree with any of that

Admitted exposing himself to 1000 women as well as rapes and two murders. Why would someone like this be released ?  What psychological treatment and offending behaviour work must he have done to be released ?

Not sure why that would mean he's ready for release ?

It doesn't, in my opinion. I was merely responding to #25

The Judge who sentenced this monster years ago said he should never see day light, he went through all of the evidence and saw how evil he is.  The parole board and I would imagine a psychiatrist think he is ready to be released because he’s been rehabilitated. How reliable is their evidence?

Give the families of these girls who he murdered justice, keep him in prison. A life sentence shouldn’t be called a life sentence when it’s not.
