Before You Diagnose Yourself With Depression Or Low Self-Esteem.

...first make sure you are not, in fact, just surrounded by assholes.

What an awesome saying. Not something I wrote, but I do like it!

I don’t know bout anyone else, but I’m often self critical and feel the problem lies with me, when it’s just in fact, other people who are out of order.

Also good advice:

“If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole.”

Perhaps honest self-appraisal, rather than self-criticism, would be better for you.

That’s a good one Joker.

Actually, just watching a video (where I came across the quote I posted above) and the dude was cautioning to examine yourself for ‘assholism’ before categorising others as one.

I certainly think there are times when people can mistreat you, and you mistakenly believe the problem lies with you. Maybe not something everyone does, but possibly quite damaging for those who have a tendency to do this (erroneously believe they have or are a problem when others are being jerks).

I am a quiet person, but I can talk all day to the right person. Some, many people around me seem not to talk much. That could be me, or it could be them.

The person that I work with doesnt even say good morning, but she will reply with a good morning 80% of the time.

I sometime think she is deaf, but she should say a greeting anyway.

Maybe you are the same or maybe you are loud, we should just try to make our lives better and leave those that are not interested alone.

Guest makapaka

I have two good friends I met at work 15 years ago.

other than that - my working life has mostly been spent cringing at people talking rubbish for 9 hours a day - I hate how people assume a new personality for work.

it’s weird.

My working life left me with a simple fact:  Empty Vessels make the most noise.

I found that it especially related to the behaviour of people in meetings.
