francypants   441 #2 Posted June 2, 2021 Can't see it matters where a person is working at home, inside or outside so long as they are doing the job they're being paid to do.
 Share this content via...

tinfoilhat   11 #4 Posted June 2, 2021 One of the reasons why house prices are shooting up. Everyone wants a spare room for an office and/or a garden to work in.
 Share this content via...
saywhatnow   33 #5 Posted June 2, 2021 I know two people currently selling houses in Sheffield. They've both had viewings from couples who currently live in London looking to relocate because they're now remote working and the companies they work for plan for that to continue
 Share this content via...
Michael_N Â Â 36 #6 Posted June 2, 2021 Often wondered how certain companies get around this, with GDPR and other issues. What's to stop someone letting someone into their property, and taking contact details and other details about clients/customers off the PC etc. I'd be very concerned, especially with Call Centres etc.
 Share this content via...

Exactly.  Now it's proven that people can work from home with good internet connections, companies will be licking their lips at outsourcing jobs to countries with lower wages and no workers rights.
 Share this content via...
bassett one   447 #11 Posted June 2, 2021 i think its good,do you think we now should get lower prices,as the firms are now paying no office rents?but are many really taking the biscuit so to speak, by having no bosses around. the_bloke   17 #12 Posted June 3, 2021 Company I work for is downsizing offices from next year as remote working is now the norm; very little interest from staff wanting to be in the office more than a day or two a week.  No point in paying for office space to have half the desks empty.
