Hillsborough Trial Collapses

Recommended Posts

but its a fact that the ground did not have a safety certificate,so in my opinion nothing should of been held until it had one,you would not drive a car without one ,never mind let thousands of folk into a ground minus one,but the whole lot was many factors, that lead to the awfull death of innocent people, who just want to watch a game of football.

It’s best to keep quiet when you know nothing about the subject. Semi-finals have been all ticket for about 100 years.

Yes, but what about the fans who arrived with no tickets?

AFAIK there was nobody to issue a safety certificate.

It used to be the responsibility of South Yorkshire County Council - which had been abolished a few years before - but not all their responsibilities had been transferred to SCC (or Rotherham / Barnsley / Doncaster as appropriate).

Myths debunked 🙄

Yeah, right. I know some Liverpool fans were ticketless and some were drunk.

Did this cause the crush?

I've no idea.

Did this contribute to the crush?

Again, I've no idea but to say all the fans were sober and all had tickets is laughable.

Remember the police had alcohol tests done on the victims of their complete incompetence.

There was no evidence that either caused the diaster.

From further reading Dunkenfield the lead officer had never even attended a match at Hillsborough prior to the day.

There were two matches he could have done in the 19 days prior to the game.

The police failed in nearly ever choice they made on that dreadful day and systematically lied about it.

YES!!!

A few thousand fans pushing and shoving at the Leppings Lane gates.

The commander (was it Beckinsdale) ordered the gates to be opened, obviously that caused a great surge.

Hindsight's a wonderful thing....
