I have just put the N.H.S. app on my phone with the records of my 2 vaccinations. If I went abroad could I still view this app with a local sim card in my phone?

Probably not to be honest, as "abroad" doesn't have the NHS  

 

I could be wrong though, Google is your friend.

To be on the safe side you can call 119 and ask for a letter with your COVID-19 vaccination status to be posted to you.

Must be at least 5 days after your second jab. The letter will take up to 7 working days to reach you.

I hope it's not the Scottish one - I can't see that been trusted again as there is a fault on it that means the Covid status can be changed!

wouldnt the app on your phone be viewable by wifi.

The app will still work but if its the track and trace one the only thing that wont work is with other countries tracing apps so you wont get notifications you, for example, spent 20 mins in the company of a Frenchman who had the virus

 

Most apps work outside the UK - I can even get on my online banking in other countries. Very few will be geolocked (betting apps maybe, but thats about it)

DON'T confuse the TWO NHS apps. 

NHS COVID-19 which includes Track And Trace feature. Does not work abroad inc. Ireland.

NHS App is linked to your GP and contains your vaccination record. Works everywhere.

 

 

 

 

A follow up would be: Is the app sufficient evidence to allow travel?  NO

Much more complicated as you would need to ask BEFORE you go:

-the carrier may require it.

-the host country may require it.

-the UK on return may require it. 

-the insurance company may require it.

In itself the information on app is not going to help prove that you are Covid-free and is not accepted instead of other requirements like testing.
