Sheffield Local Elections - Party Info

Recommended Posts

Well stating that they have not replied is implied criticism you could have just as easily it would appear posted the links without the need to ask the parties as you have done with 2 of the parties

I note that you have not included any reference or opportunity for other parties  to contribute like Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition, UK Independence (UKIP), Yorkshire, Social Democratic, Women’s Equality and Reform UK parties who  all have candidates in the running alongside independents, although not in every ward.  - you seem to have decided they do not deserve to have their voice heard which to me seems unwarranted. No I am not saying I would support or even consider any of them with the exception of the independents I just take issue with the way you have gone about this

UKIP will never get in anyway because even the right aren't daft enough to vote for them even on a local level.

Actually thought it was fairer to comment that they hadn’t replied yet and I will update when they do, otherwise it would have looked bias for the Green Party who sent all the separate links. No malice or criticism, not really sure what the issue is by me trying to helpfully put links to the main parties in one place for people.

Hmmm...

Just a wild guess here but...

... maybe putting Labour as third on the list was not such a good idea! ;)

want detail not the usual political platitudes if you can not be bothered to give me the information I need to make an informed decision then you ain't going to get my vote

I'm sorry you feel that way but how would we pay to have the information printed and distributed given that we have to raise our own funds?

Sounds a bit rude...

But I agree with your follow up response regarding Police commissioner. No information forthcoming as far as I can see except a choice of 3 names which means nothing.

I'm not even sure what police commissioners do, and do we really need one? We seemed to manage without them before, and they are an extra expense which surely could be better spent elsewhere.

Also how is the Mayor situation shaping up? No vote on that this time I see. Maybe we need a referendum on whether we join with the other Yorkshire towns and cities rather than just South Yorkshire, but I'm not sure what the situation is or what the pros and cons are. I see we sent money to Scarborough according to the blurb, so maybe that has something to do with it. More information needed.

However I do appreciate the situation is very different between North Yorkshire and South Yorkshire so I don't really know what's best solution.

Agreed ! The current commissioner is I think 79 years old and if elected 83 ? Come the next vote ?

How does that work if the alternatives won’t tell us their strengths etc

i say abolish the position and the sy  mayor use the money better

The PCC seems to be a solution without any problem that needed its fixing!
