Relaxation Of Restrictions. For How Long?

So I ask again...you want to keep all shops restaurants etc...closed until the end of October 2021, meaning in some areas of the UK some sectors of the economy would have been closed for almost  a full year? Restaurants had to shut in Sheffield on the 5th Nov 2020.

The economy opened up in summer last year with no approved vaccine so your argument has no logic.

shops and pubs should never have been shut in the first place, the 2nd spike was wholly caused by schools and UNis going back, the hospitality industry had the safest procedures out of everything, track and trace, sit down only , masks etc etc, the blame was in the totally wrong direction.

Pubs were the site of a big percentage of the autumn increase and as the days got colder that would have increased too.

Government did the right thing closing them

How do you work that out? my missus is a safety and health/hygiene compliance  (basically in house EHO) for a major pub chain with 1800+ pubs, they had the most stringent enforcement of regulations compared to supermarkets , schools, unis etc which had none!!

More good news the numbers with the virus have really taken a tumble.

The most recent figures show the country had an infection rate of 28.7 per 100,000, down from a peak of 642 per 100,000 back in early January.

My bold.

And what in many cases happend to those infected individuals do in schools & further education establishment?

That's correct, they mixed, possibly unknowingly with the virus, with their parents & peers, who then went down the shops & the pubs.

It wasn't the shops & pubs per se but the fact, as widely reported at the time last year, while people were abiding by the rules, especially in pubs, the problems & the spreading of infection happened post pub.  Let's also remember a few high profile football matches where there were no supporters in the grounds but thousands chose to gather outside illegally.

The problem has never been the establishments but a small minority of the general public.

like i said if the schools and unis hadn't been reopened the following fall out where ever it hit wouldn't have happend, it is always the young students and other teens who stick two fingers up and create aggro for the rest of us until they eventually grow up!
