It was an absurd question to ask and he compounded his moronic error by doing it in a press conference. The clear implication from the way he asked was that he thought drinking or injecting household cleaning products was plausibly a reasonable thing to do. No, he did not specifically tell people to go out and inject bleach. Yes, you would have to be a moron to inject bleach based on what he said. Unfortunately, ... he did raise the possibility as plausible and guess what there were morons watching.

To be clear, I wasn't calling him a moron because he endangered the lives of those who might not otherwise think to drink bleach. I was calling him a moron because he took the information he had been briefed with, ie that sunlight and cleaning products inactivate the virus on surfaces , and got excited by the idea, presumably his own idea genius idea, that it was remotely plausible that powerful lights and cleaning products could be used to do the same in the human body. It's that "small" creative leap which seemed so plausible to him that he rushed to tell the American people about it. That is the evidence, in this case, that he is a moron.
