Biden seems to have explicitly ruled out military action against Russia should they invade Ukraine. He is instead threatening economic sanctions should the Russians invade. Eg. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-59582013 .

Well, that's that then.

"Biden: Sending US troops to Ukraine 'not on the table'"

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/584898-biden-sending-us-troops-to-ukraine-not-on-the-table?rl=1

Give him credit for consistency.

The good news is there will be no WW3 over the Ukraine, or Taiwan.

Biden's (handlers) message to the Ukrainians is loud and clear. Same as Obama's.

To Taiwan, Ukraine, and Afghanistan.

'You are on your own, make the best deal you can with the invaders, but we will send you food parcels and blankets, if things get rough". Of course, like Afghanistan, no country would dare take on the Taliban, Russia or China, without Western Military intervention, so they have no choice but to join the new order.

Now if only he'd shut up about the U.S. commitment to  defend human rights around the world, we could get on with business as usual, You wanna start WW3, over THAT?

Besides, NATO relies on Putin's oil and gas, while Joe 's Democrat Party is dedicated to shutting down it's own fossil fuel reliance.

No wars against Russia or China, with windmills and Chinese made solar panels, is possible.

Now we can all sleep easy, for now!

But wait, we are not outta there scot free!

Look for the West to continue to send $billions in humanitarian aid, to the Countries in question, Ukraine, Taiwan, Afghanistan, along with Iran and Pakistan, in the event that they are invaded, to take the load off the military invaders.

Putin and Xi thank the Capitalists, for making their expansionist plans a little easier.

Now if only we could similarly extricate ourselves from that other Great Satan, Israel, blamed for all the unrest in the Middle east, it would be a perfect run for Biden.

4 fledgling Democracies, caput! In less than a year!

But, as that great statesman Chamberlain once said we'll have  "Peace in out Time!".

So?

Did I want Biden to beat Trump?  Yes.

Was Biden my first choice?  No.  I wanted Bernie Sanders and AOC.

You probably heard it from me.

I did mention it back in August.  Twice.

It only took you three months for it to sink in.

I've not lost hope for you yet.

You promise?

OK, here goes . . .

Joe Biden was not my first choice for President, and Kamala Harris was not my first choice for VP.

I wanted Bernie Sanders to win, and I wanted Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to be VP.

Alas, it was not to be.

So your constant bitching about Joe Biden and Kamala Harris is utterly wasted on me 'cos I don't particularly feel invested in either of them.

So, in a word,  lol.

I have the top 5 U.S. Economic indicators bookmarked.

GDP

Employment Figures

Consumer Spending

Inflation

It didn't make the list!

Neither did it make the list of CNN's Top 12 Economic Indicators.

Jobless claims are reported weekly and subject to "seasonal adjustments".  Jobless claims typically are low in November and rise again after the Christmas layoffs.

But I'm happy to give joe credit for lowering the jobless claims this week. Let's hope they continue to fall.

And the fact that they are at a historic low is certainly newsworthy.

Hopefully joe can surpass another 50 year historic low, Trump's Unemployment 3.5%  set in 2019.

"The Bureau of Labor Statistics puts the rate was 4.7% when he was sworn in. The most recent rate, for December, was 3.5%. It was also at that level in September and November. Before then it had not been so low since December 1969 — 50 years ago — when it was also 3.5%.

The jobless rate has been at or below 4% for the most recent 22 months — all under Trump. It hasn’t been that low for that long since a 50-month streak ending in January 1970.

"The historical norm is 5.6%, which is the median monthly rate for all the months since the start of 1948.

Hmmm, because unemployment and employment aren't the flip side of the same coin :?

Unemployment rate would seem to be related to jobless claims :?

Looking at many of those charts, Biden really isn't doing badly at all.

So, Trump lowered it by 1.2%, how far did it lower under Obama?
