mikeG   16 #17 Posted April 2, 2021 I lived in Preston when Bobby managed North End and Jack was in charge of Middlesborough. I went to watch the teams meet at Deepdale. I think Middlesborough won 4-1 or 4-2. I think Jack did a pretty good job at Middlesborough but this didn't get a mention in the program. No problem with that, a promotion from the third division wouldn’t hold much interest for anyone outside Sheffield. What did surprise me was no mention of his walking out of his dream job at Newcastle when he had Waddle, Beardsley and Gazza in his squad.
