I think people would do well to think more about what they want than what they don't want. Certainly in politics, where it seems increasingly common for people to support a party or a leader based on who they hate, rather than based on their ability or competence. We're seeing this in Brazil, where Bolsonaro got to be president based on who he hates and who he's against, and has done the worst job with Covid, an absolute disgrace, and yet 30% of the population still support him. Being anti something isn't enough.

A very useful guide, more information and advice on how to use social media is certainly needed. Thanks

Being anti something isn't enough?

I would love this to be true but it just isn't.

There are some pro- campaigns but they are hard to find.

Successful anti, 'we've been robbed?, campaigns are 10 a penny its what people really get going about. Is this why Boris continually couches his language in aggressive anti and warlike phrases?

The War.

Poll Tax.

Brexit - Take back control.

The 2019 election against Corbyn.

Trump

Bolsonaro

Reclaim the Night ( no-one ever had it in the first place!).

Excellent reason to keep highlighting resources like this :)

I am beginning to see a gradual understanding in my direct family/friends that they need to be more considerate when using things like social media. That is positive and we need to keep that momentum going!

Many years ago I was a supporter of the freedom to use a Citizens Band Radio. I thought it could be such a fantastic social communications medium. How wrong I was!  Idiots took over. Intelligent people got rid.  Then comes, after a time, Facebook et al. And much the same thing has happened.  How can we have liberal social communication when the bullies, the cheats, fraudsters and dimwits hi-jack it for their own ridiculous purpose?   How I wish we could have decent, calm, logical exchange of views and information. We might even have a name for it. How about "Gossip"?  It's what our mothers did. If there was a falling out the others "on the street" or "in our yard" made sure that no bad feelings remained.   God Bless our mothers. God bless the good old days.
